Eberswalde: 70 anniversary of trolleybuses
On 21 August 2010, the TROLLEY project partner Barnim Bus Company (BBG) celebrated "70 years of trolleybuses in Eberswalde". In this context, BBG and the citizens from Eberswalde symbolically said good-bye to the currently operating trolleybus fleet, immortalising themselves with a message on an old trolleybus positioned on the market place in Eberswalde. From November on, the old fleet will be replaced with a new fleet with advanced technique to aim for the next 70 years of trolleybuses in Eberswalde. Furthermore, enthusiasts and advocates of this clean public transport mode had the opportunity to commit themselves to the trolleybus concept by providing T-shirts with their institution’s logo. All T-shirts were fixed on a trolleybus themed “Der O-Bus zieht an” (“The trolleybus dresses up”), resulting in a colourful mosaic.
