Brno

Intermodal Transport Hub of the Moravian Region in Czech

Brno, with nearly 400.000 inhabitants the second largest city of the Czech Republic, is simultaneously the centre of the Southern Moravia Region. Brno is located in the southeast part of the country, at the confluence of the Svitava and Svratka rivers. The city is a political and cultural hub of the South Moravian Region and at the same time, it represents the centre of the province of Moravia. It is situated at the crossroads of ancient trade routes which have joined northern and southern European civilizations for centuries.

The city of Brno is considered to be a significant centre of culture in the Czech Republic with numerous theatres and museums. It is also the seat of several courts, among them the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic.

Statutory City of Brno and especially its northern surroundings are natural centres of industry.
